You can drop off donations any time the library is open. The library is located in Akumal Playa on the same road that leads to the tourist areas of Akumal Bay, Hal Moon Bay and Yalkul Lagoon. Go south from Playa del Carmen about 20-30 minutes. Turn left at the sign that says "Akumal Playa." In 2-3 minutes, on the left side, there is a big blue sign that says Hekab Be Bilioteca. That's it! If you get to the little super Chomak store or the arch, you went too far.

The cheapest way to the library is by the local vans called Collectivos ( $1.50 USD or 15 pesos ea. one way ). If you go across the highway ( please be careful ) from the resort you can wait for one at a sheltered bus stop. They will stop for you no problem. They are white vans. Tell the driver you wish to get off at Akumal. It is maybe 10 min. south of the resort. He will let you off at the intersection and you have to cross back to the other side. Now all you have to do is walk toward Akumal beach for about 10 min. The library is a small blue building on the left hand side. After, you can go to Akumal beach for lunch ( 10.min. walk) and snorkel or swim on a beautiful beach. You can rent snorkel equip. at the Akumal Dive shop right beside Lol Ha restaurant , so you don't have to carry it with you all day. On the way back you can walk back out to the highway and catch another collectivo going north and tell the driver you wish to get off at the Palladium . Or take a cab for about $10.00 USD..
