TRS Room Questions

Post by northhillgal » Tue May 15, 2018 9:46 pm

We have decided we are going to rebook our vacation in December and go from the Colonial to TRS. Now we have some questions.

Is there a coffee maker in the room?

Would there be any JR Suites on ground level. I cannot do stairs so would need to be on the first floor.

When is Chic Cabaret? Can you attend it more than once in a one week stay?

Do you have the same butler for the whole week or do they change?

Do all the Jr Suites have jetted tub right in the main room?

What are some of the perks we can expect that we wouldn't have seen in other areas (White Sands, Kantenah, Colonial)?

Is the pontoon boat running these days? Crazy as it sounds this is my favourite part of the resort!

Do the rooms all have WIFI?

Thanks for all your anticipated info!

Is there a coffee maker in the room? ....Yes, and an expresso machine.

Would there be any JR Suites on ground level. I cannot do stairs so would need to be on the first floor.......Yes, there are Jr. Suites on the ground floor. In the old Royal section there's a hot tub on the patio. In the new section there's a plunge pool, however, those rooms are extra.

When is Chic Cabaret? Can you attend it more than once in a one week stay.......I think it's 3 or 4 nights a week depending on the occupancy. We went on a Saturday in December.would assume you can go more than once but it is the same show(?)

Do you have the same butler for the whole week or do they change?......They had 2 assigned to the building, one early and one late, and another that rotated that covered on the other's days off, so yes, you should have at least the same 2.

Do all the Jr Suites have jetted tub right in the main room?.......See above for first floor. In the new section the 2nd and 3rd have jetted tubs in the rooms, the old have the hot tub on the balcony but the rooms are remodeled like the others.

What are some of the perks we can expect that we wouldn't have seen in other areas (White Sands, Kantenah, Colonial)?...... Cart service, 4 exclusive restaurants for TRS guests, free spa access, 3 pools exclusive to TRS (Infinity, Salt Water, Old Royal), Chic Caberet, 4 bottles of alcohol in room, Room service incl. lobster, Lobster at pretty much any restaurant for no extra charge, no towell cards, bali bed area near the Royal beach area with wait service, etc.

Pontoon boat was still running but limited times and differant route, not sure if it goes to what was the old Royal lobby anymore(?)

And yes on Wi-Fi, it was actually very good when we were there in Dec. in both the room and the lobbies.

Check out the "Accommodations" link off of the main page (scroll down to the "TRS section")......

http://www.palladiumaddict.net/mexico-m ... mmodations

Click on the hyperlinks there for some nice photos and videos. This link has great room photos (in 360 degree view) of the rooms...…

http://www.palladiumhotelgroup.com/en/r ... ium/rooms/

All first floor rooms, as mentioned, in each of the new renovated villas (old Riviera section villas # 60-68) have pools. Jr. suites have smaller pools than the suite rooms. If you don't want to spend the extra money for these pool rooms, you would need to be put in the renovated original Royal villas (#69-71) as suggested. Some of the info. there on the TRS accommodation page still shows photos or info. on the old "Royal" rooms. Just look for the "TRS" descriptions.

One other feature that was added to the new TRS resort was the fabulous new "Beach Club" that contains the new beach restaurant Helios. It serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You have a choice of eating outside or inside (buffet or menu). Beautiful views!

I have some photos of the TRS section including Helios in this thread.....

I highly recommend attending the CHIC Cabaret dinner show. It was fabulous! VERY popular and was booked for the entire week when we arrived on a Monday (got in on a Sat....two of the last four seats left). I suggest after checking in that you go to the Guest Services desk there and book the show right away. Your butler can do it also. Don't wait.

Thanks June & Chillinfool for the information.

While the plunge pool looks great, and I really liked the Riviera section, I just can't see us using the pool. So, probably the original Royal area would be fine for us. The most important thing to me is that we are on the ground floor.

Thanks for the tip about the CHIC Cabaret. We will book that as soon as we arrive! Is it possible to book it before we arrive?

I am so excited now....come on December!!

We just booked a TRS junior suite for February. The week before we go when we send our room request, how would we refer to the junior suites in the old Royal Suites buildings? We would like to stay in one of the old sentimental buildings rather than a new one but aren’t sure what to call them. Thanks.

Hoping I’ve gotten rid of my old pesky trip trailer.

When you send your email, I would make villas 69-71 my priority. Hopefully you should then have a good chance of getting placed in the original buildings

:27: ......2012!!! :61: Yes time to get rid of it! :15:

Go to the top of the page and click on your addict name that appears underneath the blue PA banner (LR corner).
Click on "User Control Panel"
Click on "Profile"
Click on "Edit Signature"

Go to the URL there that is your trip ticker link. Remove it by highlighting it first and then delete it.
Click "Submit" at the bottom of the page.

That should do the trick!

Do the old TRS rooms still have a hot tub on the balcony?

Yes they have the tubs on the balcony. First 2 floors have large curtains you can pull around for privacy. The top floor rooms do not curtains and to be honest some balcony's can be viewed from villas across from you so plan accordingly :54: Just to make sure everyone understands and is clear the tubs are large jetted tubs that you fill by tap not a ""hot tub"" that is full all the time like you would have on your back yard deck if you should be so lucky to have one lol. In the bathroom of your room they supply a couple small bottles of blue bath gel. While filling up your tub add a couple into the tub . Once you turn on the jets you will get a very bubbly jetted bath. It's a lot of fun. Caution! , using more than 3 will have suds blowing off your balcony lol. It will take approx 3 beers to get the water level over the jets when filling lol. I guess that is subject to how thirsty you are at the time and is only meant as a guide lol. The tubs are very large though.

Cheers,
Dan.

Thank you Dan, that is some really good information on how long it takes to fill the tub!

Our friends booked a Jr. Suite Private Pool but we stuck with the regular Jr. Suite because we really want in one of the "old" villas with the tub on the balcony. Any advice on how to keep mosquitoes away while I'm soaking in the tub?

I've yet to try anything that works for me to keep mosquitos away, although some products do seem to work for other people. Just immerse yourself completely under the water and breathe through a snorkel. ;)

I am bringing a citronella candle this year for our balcony. I am also considering a mosquito net for my head. Maybe they sell them in different colors so I can coordinate with my outfit.
My other thought was to get the stretchy bands with repellent for the wrists. However, I would need 4; one for each wrist and one for each ankle.

Thanks for the tips! I'll bring candles and I actually have some mosquito netting that I bought John for a fishing trip so I'll throw that in bag too. If there was outlets out there, I would bring a little fan and blow those suckers off the balcony :)
