It sounds like the $20 charge, deposit, or reservation fee is an attempt to control "no shows", empty seats at Chic could have been paid seats, I would imagine that the majority of their no shows were peeps that had Chic included at no charge.

Shame they didn't do a better job of rolling this change out.

I agree the fee is to prevent no shows and all the wasted food that is prepared. I wish it included seat reservation choice as well. The fee is going to ensure the venue is not usually sold out however except during high season so the guests should get better seats to begin with. I almost feel like it was my fault for complaining about the bad seats we have gotten previously when we attended the chic show and then this. :21:

If that's the reason then why are the people that DID show up charged the $20.00 fee?

Ok on second thought you are right. That money... $360 pesos per person easily pays all the dancers and singers and most of the food bill. So I guess it ensures that Chic doesn't lose money for them and they can continue to offer the show at the resort. Makes good business sense. I am all for them continuing to offer us quality service and entertainment even if it costs a little extra. The TRS is already the lowest price Premium resort in the entire Riviera Maya so something had to give.

Well according to the notice over on FB, it looks like the CHIC ticket cost has been reduced from $100.00 pp to $80.00 pp plus the $20.00 fee (check out the copy I posted yesterday at the top of this page!). :1: This will be the 3rd revision I have seen of this new policy since it originally appeared. They're changing it as it goes! LOL! I hope this is correct! The CM Family Section CHIC ticket price was always listed as $80.00 pp. All guest ticket pricing should be the same (with the exception of TRS). Actually I'd love to see the price for resort guests be less because with the fee added to the $80.00 it's back to $100.00!!).Image

:53: In case this was a mistake about reducing the cost of tickets you better not change it back! :17: :61:
