Suggestion re not being able to travel

Post by Terry »

I am also tired of not being able to travel. :64: So, I have a suggestion for all of you who want to feel a little better. All of that money you saved for 2020 vacation try sharing some of it. I know you can probably save more before your next vacation.
Many of us know several workers in Mexico and we keep in touch with them. How about you get the exact name on their photo id and send them a MoneyGram. It is easy to do and very much appreciated by them. Every little bit helps. I have done this and it made me feel really good. They don't get any help from their government.

Just a thought.

I have actually done this via Western Union. It was very easy. I just had to provide WU with the person's name and address as is shown on their government ID. The money was available for them to pick up in just a couple hours. Doing it this way is private and between you and the person you want to gift money to. Of course it goes without saying that nobody should feel pressured, it's totally a private decision at your discretion and this is just a suggestion in case some of you may be interested and just not thought of handling it this way.

Thanks Terry. I can tell you from personal experience, it is a very good feeling to be able to help.

I agree Jackie, it is at your discretion. If any one is interested Money Gram was also very simple. Go to the post office with rhe persons exact name and approximate location pay $10.00 fee plus the amount you want to send using a debit card. Email your friend with the code and done.Easy as pie and feels great too.

I don't know anyone personally but have been donating to the children's library in Akumal. They are doing a food drive for the local people. Every little bit helps!!!

:2: Great idea!! So many of our members have contributed to this wonderful library down there in Akumal over the years both in person bringing school supplies and donating funds. So glad to see them associated with various donators to help collect food for the area! It took me all of a minute to donate via their PayPal account!!
