Rooftop terrace or Palace swim up?

Post by Emeraldaine » Mon Oct 28, 2019 10:03 am

Hi, it will be our first visit to this resort. We have kids age 3 & 6. I’ve narrowed down accommodation choice to either the Bavara rooftop suites or the Palace swim up suites. Has anyone stayed in both and can compare?

I’m thinking we will use the rooftop or pool mostly when the kids are in bed, and during the day we will mostly be at the beach or pools with them or they will be at the kids club.

My husband is concerned that if we were to stay in the swim up suite the kids could go out there without us knowing, but I’m sure the doors have locks to prevent that - would this be any concern?

Which type would you recommend and why? And is there a specific room number that would be preferred?

Thanks!

First of all, both rooms are great.

My choice would be the Palace swim-up. I have concerns about the children climbing the stairs to get to the room. The swim-up is on ground level, rather than levels above. And with strollers, children accessories etc you will have your hands full.

Both rooms have secure locks on the doors, so that should not be a problem.

Thanks for your feedback, I think I will book the swim up. Is there a better room number to request?
Thanks!

Best to request a certain Villa as the Resort will not leave a room open waiting for your arrival.

Just came back from Punta Cana last month and I checked out the Palace swim ups when we were there. The rooms themselves are very very nice. There will be locks on the sliding doors going out to the pool area. You could do a general request for a room in a building that is closest to the beach. You can then get a little bit of a view of the ocean.

I haven't stayed in a rooftop suite that's on the beach but we did stay in the swim up room in that same building. While it was an awesome room bbeing able to hear the waves at night when falling asleep, we found that there was no privacy at all when out using the pool area. There is a walking path that goes right in front of the pool area. It was nice to try it once though.

I read somewhere that the Palace swim up rooms go out the the palace main pool? Is that correct. Last time we were there 3 years ago and stayed in the Punta Cana section.

Looking to book for this December.

thank you.

Meeshy,e Palace swim-ups surround building 4000 and they are not connected to the main Palace pool.

Someone else asked me this question as well. I'm guessing this information is out there somewhere. If you don't mind telling me, where did you see this information? I can pass it along so a correction can be made.

We stayed in one this past March and it one pool. It does not connect to a main pool. Only people staying in those rooms have access to it. They are excellent rooms in my opinion.
