We arrived at GPLH at 1:00 and check-in was prompt as we were the only arriving guest in line. We were aware our room would not be available until 3:00 so we went for lunch at the buffet (delicious btw) and hung out until our room was ready.
We were located on the Lady Hamilton side and our villa provided us an excellent view of the ocean, city scape and the mountains. At night the city lit-up like twinkling stars in the sky. Our villa was equipped with an outdoor shower and all the amenities one would need. As awesome as it was, it came with a serious work-out. We were located at the point which is the furthest distance from our villa to the main reception area. If walking is not your thing, you might want to request a villa closer to main building. Would we request this villa for future visits….Absolutely?
The grounds were clean, but the shrubbery could use some grooming. I did notice a few more trash receptacles in the area which is a good thing, now if we could get some of the guest to use them, it would reduce unnecessary clutter on the beach and in the common areas.
We found the food at the buffet to be good with a fair amount of choices to select from. We also enjoyed some of the following dishes at the a la carte
Bohagali – Indian: Coconut Shrimp (Good)
Xaymaica – Creole: Shrimp Jambalaya (Good)
Jerk Hut – Jerk chicken and Paella (SUPURB)
Reggatoni – Italian: Tiramisu (Excellent)
Sports Bar – Beef Patties & Fries (Yummy)
Poseidon – Fish (unknown) dry and full of bones (Assault/Insult to the pallet)
Regretfully, the food quality has gone down significantly at Poseidon. Over the years we enjoyed fried Tilapia and Red Snapper; needless to say these selections are no longer on their menu.
Highly recommend 50 minute couples Massage. You will never be the same
Sunset Cove & the adult beach were our favorite.
The staff was AWESOME!!!! Everyone was courteous, respectful and helpful. Truthfully, our wish was their command. No one hustled us for Tips or anything else.
The following staff members are more than friends, they are family:
Marvin Grant, Judine McCrowder, Chuannalee, Maria Hoffman, Peach.
