I am sure they are. We got VIP on our trip a few weeks ago. All though it really made no difference since we were staying in TRS, but it was nice to know for future bookings.

You should already have had VIP gold bracelets on your 2 previous trips (8th and 9th)!

Your previous reservations should be in their computer system but to be safe, print out your previous reservation emails and bring with you for proof. When we hit our 8th trip last year, they already told us that we were getting VIP gold bracelets before we even had a chance to mention it!
Well, I suspect we may be out of luck then. Our first few visits they didn't ask for our passports and I don't still have the e-mails as we started going 14 years ago. The reason I know this will be our 10th trip is from looking back at our pictures from before the emails, and then starting about 10 years ago I have the confirmations.

I would definitely bring it up or ask for a manager at check-in. Tell them where you vacationed and what year. They should trust your word on this. It's a shame that it's going to be your 10th trip and you haven't been able to experience the benefits of the gold VIP bracelet.

A thought....why don't you shoot off an email to Kenia Rodriguez, the Hospitality Manager, at GPRM and tell her your dilemma. I'm sure she can help!.....

How long does it typically take to get a response? I emailed 4 days ago and haven't heard back yet.

What do we have to do to validate our visit count? I just went through my pictures and reservation emails and the trip we have booked to the Family Selection at Costa Mujeres will be our 10th visit to a Palladium Property (1 TRS Yucatan, 1 Palladium Vallarta, 2 White Sands, 5 Riviera and now a Costa Mujeres).
I see you said you are staying in the Family Selection at the GP Costa Mujeres resort. Because you are staying in the Family Selection area, the adults on your reservation will be able to go to TRS and enjoy all the same amenities that the TRS people have - TRS al la cartes, free entry to the spa, lobster at any of the al la cartes. Since you will already be able to enjoy the TRS perks, the only thing the VIP wrist band will get you is a little snack delivered to your room each afternoon.

I know they are quite busy. I have a list of all my visits and dates and I print this out and take it with me when I go to any of the resorts. So you should be ok with all that info. As I mentioned above, the only extra perk you would get would be the snack to your room.

Leslie.....

So even if the other adults on that group reservation don't have 8 visits to a Palladium, they still get to use TRS perks/amenities? I was thinking about a mother daughter trip sometime with my daughter but was told that only I would get the gold band VIP bracelet (last visit was trip #8!), not her. Is this not correct? Or is it because of this special Family section where they are booked and it offers different perks?

sean7854....

I wouldn't worry about not having documentation. I have never had to produce proof (like past confirmation #) but just stated what trip # it was in my request and also at check-in (but then again we've only been to GPRM). I'm not saying that is always the case but the way it worked for us. I did this for both getting the ability to make a certain number of ala carte reservations (on our 4th-7th trips) and for our last year's 8th trip gold VIP bracelet. No one ever questioned it. They just granted it all based on what I said. At all of the check-ins for all 8 trips, they actually beat me to it saying what trip # it was ….."Oh I see it's your 5th trip. OH I see it's your 8th trip" etc. I know several years ago they switched to a different computer system and was told it automatically shows the number of trips now. I'd say at least half of our trips were done when they were still on the old system so somewhere along the line those trips had to be accounted for based on trust of what I told them. The same, hopefully, should be your case, as well at CM.

Yes if you book the Family Selection every adult gets the TRS perks. If you stay in the other rooms in GP, you need the 8 visits to get gold bracelet.

:2: WOW!!! Nice perk!!!!

I did goof, though, in not saying that my intended trip was to GPRM, so what they told me is correct then (that I would get the gold bracelet but not her).

So I have a thought about the "adult" classification. I find it, I don't know, weird I guess, that for pricing my 14 year old is an adult, but for access to things in the resort she's not.

Anyone else have kids in that situation?

So we're here now. Certainly different than RM. We're 12 time repeaters and tried to book Chic Caberet. Saw the post from Oct by Rosy Hospitality manager stating it's a VIP benefit.
We've been told no, it's a discount, $80/per person.
Also upon check in we were told email requests don't matter that the only reason we had VIP was because we booked through Expedia. I explained we were repeaters and actually didn't book with Expedia, he looked at our booking and said, oh yes and also Cheap Caribbean. He seemed to have no idea about VIP repeaters despite mentioning my email exchanges.
Well, I guess they're still working out A LOT of things. Like closing the ONLY restaurant anywhere near the beach early to accommodate a wedding, yet the app had it marked as "open".
Lots of things to be sorted out, they're still new.
Not one employee is familiar with GPRM. We were slightly surprised they didn't bring any experienced people from RM or cross train them there.
The employees work really hard, but due to shortage of help it's hard for them to stay on top of the amount of people that are here. Restaurants being really understaffed.
The spa is beautiful. Rooms are high tech and nice and new. Great set up in the bathrooms for multiple people trying to get ready.
Something they have no control over is the beach doesn't have a sargussum problem and yet they still run the tractor every morning to clean.

Ask to speak to Rosa (Rosy) Riviera. She is the CM Hospitality Manager. VIP bracelet is supposed to be given out after 8 trips or more to any combination of visits to any GP resort (which includes just about all of the perks/amenities of TRS including free CHIC tickets!). Management discretion, of course, but I've never heard of anyone posting back here that they weren't given it!

I have no idea why you are running into the problems you are stating! WOW!! Employees never heard of GPRM? :40: :27: I remember it being stated that some employees did transfer to be closer to their home in the Cancun vicinity. Our favorite bellman, Omar was one of them. :19:

Hi, so what I said was they told us that the only reason we had VIP was because we booked through Expedia. I explained to Mario we were repeaters and actually didn't book with Expedia, he looked at our booking and said, oh yes and also Cheap Caribbean. We did receive VIP bands.
When trying to book Chic Caberet, Daniel at PR desk said that VIP only gave us a discounted price of $80 per person. Mario when we checked in, was the first to say we had to pay for it. Daniel PR, did book dinner reservations for us, no problem.
I meant all employees we have spoken with weren't familiar with GPRM (meaning hadn't ever worked or been there). There probably are some people who transferred here. We've yet to meet any.
Hope this makes my comments clear. I did send a PM and email to Rosy prior to this post, not haven't received a response. I wasn't sure if she just handles online correspondence or is physically at the property. I assumed she's busy.
Thanks, any questions if I'm not clear please let me know.

Sorry! Thanks for the correction! I read your post incorrectly and thought you had said you didn't get VIP status either! :54:

Rosy is at the resort. VIP bracelet includes free tickets to CHIC. It also doesn't matter who you booked thru as long as it's 8 visits and up collectively. At least that was never specified in anything that I have ever seen/posted anywhere!

Kenia (GPRM Hospitality Manager) emailed me (which I posted about here) saying that management is aware that there are different rules posted concerning the men's shoe "rules" for CHIC between the two resorts (GPRM and CM). They are supposed to correct this soon so they both match. Maybe there are other different "rules" between the two resorts (like you are reporting)? Would be nice if everything matched!

Cactus 🌹,
Not sure about your comments regarding men's shoes, but our guys always wear closed shoes, long pants (or nice Bermudas now that it's allowed) to dinner. But I understand Chic is long pants.
Update, Rosy sent a response email apologizing for the delay saying she was sending tickets to the room for tonight because that's when there was availablity. That was very kind.
So off for coffee now.
Thanks for your reply.

Just saw this post now. I usually don't check CM Forum very often! Glad to hear that you got tickets to CHIC via Rosy! I'm still wondering why you had so much problem with getting VIP benefits! Not sure if CM is going to have it's own different rules for that perk.

Not sure what you are referring to when you stated: "not being sure about my comments regarding men's shoes". The current difference between the two resorts (TRS Coral and TRS Yucatan) is that TRS Yucatan allows men to wear nice sandals to CHIC whereas TRS Coral states closed toe shoes only. This is stated on the Palladium Addict main page. I had emailed Kenia (Hospitality Manager at GPRM) to point out that difference. I posted her email reply on the PA Forum stating that management is aware of it and they will be deciding how to address this to make the "CHIC shoe rule" the same between both resorts.

As far as shoe preference for the ala cartes (TRS and non-TRS), nice men's shorts are acceptable and sandals at both CM and GPRM. If men prefer to wear closed shoes with shorts, I guess they can!
